FREE workshop available to ALL Delaware adoptive parents and their children by adoption ages 5-12

(Max 1 child per parent)

Get ready to learn and connect through play! Not sure how? That’s okay, we will make it safe and comfortable for you and your child. This workshop will dive in to the practical, giving you practice with activities to improve connection with your child.

When a child is used to experiencing life through the defense system of his/her brain, the effect on parents is exhausting. It’s so hard to stay open for connection when faced with opposition, rejection and defensiveness. This workshop will provide a little info for parents (childcare provided for children during that time) and a lot of simple, fun activities to reawaken joy between parent and child. It encourages bonding, increased safety, mutual trust and lowered defenses. Putting this in practice at home can breathe new life into stuck relationships. Plus, can’t we all use a little more laughter and fun?

Roller Skating Party – Kent County

Attached is the flyer about the skating party taking place in all three counties on November 3, 2017. We are very excited about these events and are hoping this is just the beginning of lots of times for families to be together. The event is free and you are able to bring family and friends. However, we have reserved the rinks for adoptive/foster families. All the information is on the flyer and we are planning to have a wonderful time. There is no fee for you nor is there any skate rental (although you can bring your own if you would like). The only think you will have to purchase is food.

We hope to do many more of these types of events in the future and need to have participation if we are going to be able to do it. There can be no complaining about distance, we have one in each county!!!!!! All at the same time, so we will truly be together.

So, gather your courage (if you haven’t skated in a long time) and your family and come have a wonderful beginning to National Adoption Awareness Month with all your fellow parents! We will chat, watch, skate and just have a wonderful time!
